Nutrition Coaching in Cambridge
How does Nutrition Coaching work?
Step 1: Assess, consult and gather data.
Step one allows your coach to build a picture of your current status. We can ensure we identify and clarify your values, priorities and goals.
Step 2: Understand the client and build the story
Once we have the data, we can establish miniature process-based goals that will take you towards your overriding outcome goal. In order to do this, we have to build a story about your life so that we can link the data together, not sure what we mean, well here’s an example:
“High triglycerides, poor glucose tolerance, a demanding job, crummy sleep, and family stress. These data points aren’t just randomly unrelated. When you put them together, they start to build a story of a client that is dealing with both physiological and psychological stressors that are creating a variety of problems”
Step 3: Create an action plan and possible next steps
At this stage we hypothesise what approach may work most effectively for the client. We create a course of action that works towards the your goals and a list of actionable tasks that you can get going with. Once we begin to work on these we can start to build them into habits.
Step 4: Choose the next action step and test it
Once we have some possible action points we align this with what you are ready, willing and able to do and get going. After all we can have the best ‘ideas’ but we wont know which is best until we test it.
Step 5: Observe and Monitor what happens
After we have assigned your action steps, you will agree with your coach what constitutes completing the task, making progress and how to track progress. At this stage it is important to remember you are experimenting. There is no failure only learning. You will stay in regular contact with your nutrition coach, and you will discuss progress updates during regular video consults.
Step 6: Use outcome base decision making
After observations on your progress and current plan have been made, your online nutrition coach will decide what to do next based on the results of your experiment
