I’d been working just round the corner from CrossFit Cambridgeshire for almost three years before I finally discovered this little gem of a place!

It was thanks to a friend’s chance meeting with a current member that a couple of us decided to pop round the corner and find out what all the fuss was about.

Up to that point I’d never even heard of CrossFit but spending just a few minutes in the box and chatting to the coaches, I decided to take the plunge and join up straight away!

Safe to say that from that point on I’ve become hooked and CrossFit is already an important part in my life. This place is nothing like a normal gym – it’s a million times better for many different reasons. For a start the standard of coaching is exceptional, group numbers are limited and every session almost feels like a personal training session where the time spent on warm-up, technique training and cool down are considered equally important as the actual work-out itself. Scores and results are all measured and recorded so that you can see how you’re improving and the app is easy to use when you want to sign into classes, check your results and see how you’re improving.

Considering that there are so many talented athletes that take part in CrossFit, it is the friendliest and most welcoming environment you will experience. There are no egos here, everybody gets on well and supports each other, regardless of ability. It’s great fun and there’s always a good atmosphere!

They say that variety is the spice of life and CrossFit has this in droves! The WOD (work-out of the day) is completely different each day and everything is planned in advance over a three month period to enable members to continuously improve and progress, so becoming bored and stagnant due to repetition just isn’t possible. Running for one hour each, classes take place at various times throughout the day and there’s something to suit everyone. The 12.00pm lunchtime session is ideal for me as I can pop round the corner from work and get the WOD done and dusted by 1.00pm, then head back to work and crack on with my day!

There’s a regular core group of us that make up the “Lunchtime (not so) massive” and we’re on the lookout for new recruits to join us!!

So pop in and see what it’s all about. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
