Chariots of fire 2014

On a rather fresh Sunday morning in September, 30 CrossFit Cambridgeshire members ventured to the city centre to take part in this year’s Chariots Of Fire.

Chariots of Fire is one of Cambridgeshire’s largest annual charity events. The race follows in the footsteps of the famous film, taking its scenic route through the streets and colleges of Cambridge, with teams of six each running a 1.7 mile course in relay format.  2014 funds are being raised for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

We put 5 teams into the race, which was a great way to test out the fitness we’ve developed in the gym. One of the most common questions we’re asked is whether our approach to training will give a good enough aerobic base, due to the fact that we hardly ever run more than 400 metres at any one point. The results spoke for themselves with every participant finding the course not only easily achievable but fun too!

Full listings of where all teams placed can be found here. We’re really looking forward to this event next year where hopefully we can hit 10 teams entering!
